A small-town festival that draws in believers and skeptics alike to celebrate in sasquatch-themed activities.

Festivities
Highlights of this year's festival included competitions, guest speakers, live music, and more. The festival is happily hosted by the city of Westminster. It brings bigfoot enthusiasts from across the southeast as well as interested locals to downtown. People get the chance to support small businesses while enjoying fun activities. Most vendors offered special sasquatch-themed merchandise on top of their regular goods, while others offered bigfoot merchandise exclusively.

One of the highlights of the festival for me, personally, was the costume competition. It was so much fun seeing the time and effort (and money) people put into their bigfoot costumes and personas. The first-place winners were twin "sass"quatches. Other competitions included making the best bigfoot calls, having the biggest feet, and looking the most like bigfoot without a costume.
Sasquatches in South Carolina
According to the Bigfoot Field Rease archers Organization (or BFRO for short) there have been 57 officially reported sightings of (or other similar interactions with) bigfoot in South Carolina. The most recent of these was in August of this year.
In SC, Oconee County (where the festival is held) boasts one of the highest numbers of sightings per county in the state. The BFRO lists all of these incidents by location and category on their website. There are some South Carolinians who take pride in the state's connections with the famous cryptid, while others see it (and bigfoot himself) as more of a fun fantasy than anything else.
